Welcome from the Head of School
I am delighted to join ISB as Head of School this year. Our vision to enrich communities through the intellectual, humanitarian, and creative thoughts and actions of our learners is bold. We believe that education extends beyond the boundaries of the classroom, and it is our purpose to empower our learners to become compassionate and globally-minded people who make a positive impact in their communities and the world.
ISB is more than just a school; it is a vibrant and interconnected community. I was told recently: “We are a school within a community and a community within a school.” Our students, teachers, parents, and staff form a tight-knit network united by common values - the ISB values - as we support, inspire, and learn from one another.
We provide a rigorous curriculum that challenges our students to be curious and encourages them to wonder about the world around them. We strive to create an environment where students think critically and engage respectfully as they explore diverse perspectives. By cultivating an environment that values intellectual curiosity and the willingness to grapple with complex ideas, we aim to develop learners that can thrive in this dynamic and ever-changing world.
Transitions can be both exciting and challenging, and I understand the importance of a smooth and intentional transition. I am grateful for the experienced leadership team, accomplished faculty, skillful staff, and supportive Board of Trustees that will guide me during this transition. ISB is a magnificent school due to the collective efforts of these dedicated people.
To support a smooth integration, I have crafted an entry plan designed to actively engage all stakeholders. The plan will support me in listening to stakeholder perspectives and learning from the rich experiences of our diverse community. The plan will help me in gaining a deeper understanding of our school's unique culture, strengths, and areas for growth, enabling me to lead with clarity and purpose. Please click here to access the plan.
On behalf of the entire ISB community, we welcome you to our school. I hope you will enjoy browsing these pages and find out more about us and our wonderful school community.
