USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO)
USA Girl Scouts Overseas serves American girls living overseas and girls of any nationality attending American or international schools. Girl Scouts of the USA Overseas is part of a worldwide family of 10 million girls and adults in 145 countries.
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential, relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making.
Who and Why would you join the Girl Scouts?
If you’re 5 to 17 years old, you can be part of the largest organization for girls on the planet! At Girl Scouts, you might explore the solar system, venture on a nature hike, become a weather watcher, write and star in a play, enjoy a scavenger hunt, or take an amazing trip. And you’ll do it with other girls and caring adults who just might become your friends forever.
From the minute you share the Girl Scout Promise and Law-words girls have been saying for almost 100 years-you’ll Discover, Connect, and Take Action.
Girls can join Girl Scouts at different grade-levels:
- Girl Scout Daisy, grades K-1
- Girl Scout Brownie, grades 2-3
- Girl Scout Junior, grades 4-5
- Girl Scout Cadette, grades 6-8
- Girl Scout Senior, grades 9-10
- Girl Scout Ambassador, grades 11-12
The troop leaders will determine meeting times. They are usually scheduled from 3:35 onward so that girls who have other activities can participate. Troop leaders try to select a day and time when the most interested girls are available so please write your day and time preferences on your applications and/or interest sheet. Meetings are held at ISB, and in some cases, at leaders’ home.
ISB Girl Scouts holds many exciting events throughout the school year for all levels. These include an ice cream social, campouts on the school grounds, a Mother-Daughter Sock Hop, an Aquarium sleepover in downtown Bangkok, a Barge campout (for older girls), a Father-Daughter dance, and many others!
