Middle School Activities at ISB Provide Opportunities

ISB’s Middle School Activities program is designed to provide a wide variety of opportunities for our middle school students to explore. We recognize the great power of the learning that can take place in these co-curricular activities. As no two middle school students are alike, there is no combination of explorations and challenges that is “right” for every student. The wide choices of middle school student activities offered at ISB are something that should be discussed and decided on as a family. Students can find an enriching balance in their education through their participation in activities. They might explore something completely new, take a risk, and follow a curiosity that leads to enhanced knowledge and enjoyment. They may even discover a hidden talent.

Each year at ISB, teachers sponsor many clubs, councils, and events focusing on service, culture, arts, adventure, sports, academics, the environment and community.

Our middle school extracurricular program at ISB is designed to be flexible in the choices it gives our students. Some activities are one-time events, some meet regularly but informally, and a number of activities require a significant commitment. Most of the Middle School activities are cost-free, and registration is done directly with the activity sponsor at the activity’s first meeting rather than through a formal registration process.

Each club, activity and organization at ISB is conducted within our eight guiding principles, which include:

  • Care
  • Integrity
  • Balance
  • Commitment
  • Courage
  • Responsibility
  • Gratitude
  • Respect

They’re also aligned with our vision, which states:

“Enriching communities through the intellectual, humanitarian, and creative thoughts and actions of our learners.”

Our activities programs fall under one of three categories, which include:

  • MS clubs, councils and activities
  • Panther activities (register via CCA in Powerschool)
  • Panther Athletics (register via CCA in Powerschool)

Within these three categories, we offer a world of different interests and passions to explore, including activities related to academics, arts and culture, tech design, fun and games, service, and leadership.
