The Middle School at International School Bangkok serves students in Grades 6-8 (typically ages 11-14).

Learners at this age need a combination of care, challenge, choice, and opportunity to help them succeed in achieving our mission. Through a thoughtful and caring approach to students’ social-emotional learning, our teachers, counselors, and administrators guide students through this stage of their learning and growth. While aligned with best-practice learning standards from around the world, our academics provide students with a globally-minded curriculum and instruction that meets students at their level of need.

We believe that all learners can succeed and we provide them with the learning and support to ensure that they do. In addition to core requirements in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, World Languages, and Physical Education, students can pursue music, performing arts, visual arts, design technology and engineering, film making, and more. Opportunities for student choice, self-direction, and responsibility are plentiful.

Students learn interpersonal skills and the importance of community. They are valued and accepted, and, in return, they learn to value and accept others. Our Middle School community is one of care, collaboration, fun, and learning.

An exciting part of our Middle School learning is the Wild Panthers Outdoor Education Program. Each year of middle school, ISB students take part in a 3 day-2 night adventure, connecting with nature while learning leadership, group collaboration, and outdoor skills. The 3-year program differs each year, focusing on the students’ developmental growth along with increasingly challenging activities and skills. This program is taught by our certified Outdoor Education teachers and hosted at our Environmental Wilderness Campus in Phetchaburi.

ISB Middle School students have many co-curricular opportunities as well. Students engage in service clubs at school and enrich and interact with the local community through active service. Model United Nations and other academic challenges take place throughout the year. Sports teams run throughout the year, competing with other Bangkok area schools in age groups of U12 and U14 in a wide range of sports. There are also performing and visual arts opportunities both during the school day as well as after school.
