High School Program

ISB offers a wide range of opportunities in athletics, arts, activities, academics, and service learning that enrich students' experiences throughout high school.

With so much available, it can be challenging to navigate all the learning options. Whether a current high school student, a new arrival, or a Grade 8 student preparing for the transition, this Program of Studies booklet is designed to support informed and thoughtful decision-making for the years ahead.

Course Availability and Scheduling

The High School Program of Studies is published annually in December to support course selection and planning. It is designed to reflect the full breadth of learning opportunities available at ISB and should be understood as a catalog of potential offerings rather than a guaranteed schedule.

Each year, the master schedule is developed based on student course requests. While we strive to offer as many courses as possible, final offerings are determined by enrollment and scheduling considerations.  In most cases, courses require sufficient enrollment —typically between 10 and 22 students - to run as a teacher-led class.   As a result, some courses included in this guide may not run if enrollment is below the level required to support a high-quality learning experience.  In such cases, the school works with students to identify appropriate pathways and alternatives.

In situations  where a course does not run or cannot be scheduled, the school works with students to identify appropriate alternatives.  These may include accredited online courses through providers such as Pamoja and Global Online Academy (GOA) to provide high-quality IB, AP, and elective alternatives, with guidance from ISB faculty and university counselors.

Course offerings are reviewed annually, and students are supported in developing academic plans that align with their interests and long-term goals.
