After two years of meticulous renovation and design, the International School Bangkok (ISB) is proud to unveil the newly transformed ISB Theater, a professional-grade performance space built for learning, connection, and creativity. The ISB Theater is set to open in August 2025.
Previously known as the Unocal Theater and later the Chevron Theater, this iconic performance venue has long been a cornerstone of the International School Bangkok (ISB) campus. For generations, students have taken the stage to perform in musicals, concerts, and plays, while the wider school community has gathered here to celebrate achievements and attend assemblies and special events. Now, following a complete renovation, a new identity, a the ISB Theater begins a bold new chapter one that honors its rich legacy while creating a modern, professional-grade space for student performances and community connection.

A Theater Reborn: What’s New
The ISB Theater has been rebuilt from the ground up with performance, accessibility, and community in mind. Every detail has been considered to create an experience that supports both the performers and the audience. The updated features include:
-
618 fixed seats arranged for optimal sightlines and comfort
-
A brand-new lighting system and state-of-the-art sound technology
-
A beautifully engineered origami-style acoustic ceiling, custom-designed to enhance sound quality throughout the theater
-
A new orchestra pit to support live music performances
-
A second-floor entrance across from the High School Office, making the theater more accessible and integrated with the rest of the campus

These upgrades make the ISB Theater not just a better venue, it makes it a truly professional-level performance space. Whether it’s a student-led drama production, a school-wide assembly, or a visiting artist workshop, the experience will be elevated, immersive, and inspiring.
