As International School Bangkok celebrates its 75th Anniversary, we are proud to launch a special storytelling initiative that places student voices at the heart of our celebration. Through a unique partnership between the English Department and ISB Marketing, the Grade 7 Takeover invites students to share their experiences, perspectives, and reflections, helping tell the story of a community that has been learning, growing, and inspiring generations since 1951.
We begin with Grade 7 student Mackenzie P., whose reflection perfectly captures the spirit of this project. What started as a writing assignment soon became something much more meaningful when she realized her words would reach beyond the classroom and connect with a wider audience.
"I realized that my writing was no longer just for my teacher. It was for families, prospective students, and the entire ISB community."
For Mackenzie, this shift transformed the writing process. It was no longer simply about completing an assignment. It became an opportunity to communicate with others, represent the school she loves, and contribute to a larger conversation. Her experience reflects the power of authentic learning and reminds us that students achieve their best work when they are given meaningful opportunities to connect, create, and share.
As we look back on seventy five years of excellence, innovation, and community, we are also looking ahead. The Grade 7 Takeover will showcase the voices of students as they reflect on the moments, relationships, and experiences that make ISB unique. Through their stories, we will celebrate our history, honor our present, and imagine our future together.
Mackenzie's reflection is the first of many stories that will be shared throughout this anniversary year. Each story will offer a different perspective, but together they will tell a larger story about what it means to be part of the ISB community.
Because while ISB's legacy spans seventy five remarkable years, its story has always been about people. And some of the most important chapters are still being written today.
