Following a comprehensive, rigorous,  and highly competitive global search, and with the benefit of thoughtful input from across our community, the Board unanimously selected Dr. Daisy Pellant as the leader best positioned to guide ISB into its next chapter. The consistently strong and positive feedback from faculty, staff, parents, and students throughout the process  further affirmed the Board’s conviction in this decision.

Dr. Pellant is a highly accomplished and globally respected  educational leader with more than three decades of experience in independent and international schools, including leadership roles at the International School of Beijing, the American School of Kuwait, the International School of Tbilisi, and U.S. institutions such as Saint Paul Academy, Buckingham Browne & Nichols, and Breck School. Since 2020, she has served as Head of School at The Kehillah School in Palo Alto, California, where she has led significant strategic innovation, strengthened community engagement, and guided the school with clarity and resilience through complex challenges. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Educational Psychology and will complete her Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University in July 2026. She also holds two master’s degrees, including one in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University.

Dr. Pellant’s  work reflects a deep commitment to student well-being, whole-child education, and research-informed teaching and learning. She brings a thoughtful, human-centered approach to leadership, grounded in  experience across  teaching, counseling psychology, and school leadership.

The Board was particularly impressed by her ability to combine a broad global perspective with a clear focus on building strong, connected communities. Her vision for  learning – centered on individual pathways, a strong sense of belonging, and   meaningful challenge – resonated strongly with the Board and aligns closely with ISB’s mission and strategic direction. We are confident that  she is exceptionally  well positioned to lead ISB forward with purpose and impact.

Throughout her visit to ISB, Dr. Pellant connected deeply with our community. Her engagement  with students, faculty, and families reflected a shared commitment to learning, connection, and growth – qualities that define ISB at its best.

We are also pleased to share a message from Dr. Pellant to the ISB community, which you can read here.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Pellant and her husband RM to ISB. We look forward to the leadership, vision  and care she will bring to our community.

Kind regards,

ISA Board of Trustees
