Earth Week at ISB

Students Don’t Just Learn About the Planet. They Protect It.

What does it mean to prepare students for the future? It means preparing them to protect it. At International School Bangkok, students don’t just learn about environmental challenges. They explore them. Question them. Act on them. This Earth Week, step inside a community where learning moves beyond the classroom—and into the world.

Explore the Earth Week Series

This Earth Week, we are sharing stories that show what students can do when learning is rooted in purpose.

  • Innovation that solves real problems
  • Awareness that leads to action
  • Learning that extends beyond school
Cleaner air. Less energy. Student-built.

Indoor air can be more polluted than outside.
Most people accept it.

ISB students didn’t.

They designed a system that integrates into existing air-conditioning units—reducing pollutants while improving energy efficiency.

This is not a concept. It works.

At ISB, students don’t just learn about problems.
They build solutions.

You protect what you notice.

Most people never see what’s disappearing.
This ISB student made it visible.

Through photography, he documents rare bird species, bringing attention to fragile ecosystems and working with organizations to design more biodiverse environments.

Awareness becomes action.
Action becomes change.

This is learning with purpose.

Turning Waste Into Impact

Plastic waste is a growing challenge.

As part of the Green Panthers, Kitch leads efforts to reduce plastic waste and protect local environments.

These include river cleanups and a student-led trash interceptor project for the Chao Phraya River.

Sustainability becomes a shared responsibility.
