ISB Celebrates Jenis Sunthornrangsri: Student, Athlete, Thai National Swimmer!

International School Bangkok proudly celebrates the tremendous success of 10th grader Jennis, a dedicated member of the Thai National Swimming Team! Her journey is an inspiring demonstration of commitment, beginning at the ISB pool at age five and blossoming into a rigorous training schedule that demands six days a week. This includes six afternoon practices, two early morning sessions, and specialized technical work—a true display of athletic discipline.

Jennis masterfully manages this elite athletic commitment alongside her academics, firmly believing both are equally vital. This dedication and consistent effort have prepared her for the international spotlight.

Jennis recently earned the honor of representing Thailand at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, competing in the 100 meter and 200 meter breaststroke. She was thrilled and rightfully proud to secure a spot on the small, highly competitive roster for this major international event, her first of this magnitude!

When reflecting on her journey, Jennis shared that the most important lesson is self belief. She trusts the work she has put in and knows she can succeed. She has learned that even after difficult performances, trusting herself is essential to reaching her full potential. We are grateful for the support of the ISB faculty, whose flexibility ensures Jennis's academic excellence continues despite her travel demands; teachers often send her work prior to her absence and provide necessary extensions. Her message is clear for all aspiring students: be disciplined, commit fully to your passion, and believe in yourself. Jennis is an outstanding example of a student athlete reaching the pinnacle of her sport.
