Congratulations to SEA Games Triple Gold Medal Winner
Congratulations to ISB alumnus and Olympic athlete Kieran Tuntivate on his triple gold winning perfromances in the recent SEA Games held in Bangkok. Kieran, a world class professional distance runner, won the 1,500M, 5,000M and 10,000M representing Thailand. This triple gold adds to the double gold medals that Kieran won in the SEA Games of 2019 and 2023. ISB and all of Thailand can celebrate the achievements of this incredible athlete and look forward to watching his future performances.
ISB Alumnus Completes His First Year as a Professional Triathlete
On Sunday, November 13, ISB class of 2022 graduate Zachary Bernier-Michaud completed his first full year as a professional triathlete. He did this by participating in Ironman Arizona, a place that he had competed in two previous times when he was an amateur. Zachary’s goal was to complete the race in less than 8 hours and become the fastest 21 year-old triathlete ever. Showing the grit, consistency and determination that he always demonstrates, Bernier-Michaud attained his lofty goal by finishing the race in 7 hours, 56 minutes and 16 seconds. The ISB community congratulates Zachary Bernier-Michaud and his team on his amazing achievement and look forward to what the future will bring to this world class athlete. Well done, Zachary!!
*ISB Robotics Teams Find Success in Recent Competitions.
The ISB high school robotics teams recently competed in competitions here in Bangkok and in Singapore. The local competition was held at nearby Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) on Saturday,
November 15. The two ISB teams were outstanding, and the combined team won the overall event defeating schools from Shrewsbury, Bangkok Christian College, ICSN, St. Gabriel's College, and Mahidol University. The teams were also recognized by winning Innovative Award and the Sportsmanship Award.
The VEX competition in Singapore took place October 31-November 1 at Singapore American School. The three teams ISB sent to Singapore performed admirably, with the freshman team making it to the single elimination round and the two more experienced teams making to the semi-finals of the 39-team competition before being defeated by an unbeaten and world-ranked team. The ISB teams were recognized by winning the Innovative Award for creative and advanced design and the Judges’ Award for sportsmanship, collaboration, advanced building design, and overall performance. Congratulations to all of the ISB participants and their coach, Mr. Michael Bycraft.
Upcoming Reunions
Looking forward to the combined reunion event for the Classes of 2000 and 2005 celebrating 25 year and 20 year anniversaries, as well as ISB’s 75th birthday which will on May 14, 2026. The 75th anniversary celebration is tentatively planned to take place in January of 2027, 25 years after the memorable 50th anniversary events that took place in January of 2002.
