Panther Dance
Let's Dance!
Panther Dance is an extracurricular program that provides structured learning with clear goals, enhancing students' confidence, discipline, and dedication to their craft, ultimately fostering a robust and well-rounded dance education. Progress is tracked through standardized assessments, eventually leading to examinations for selected students. This approach encourages technical skill development and a deeper understanding of dance theory and practice.
Enrollment requires registration for combined Seasons 1-2 and Seasons 3-4.
Seasons 1-2: Focus on developing technical skills, and introducing dance theory and practice. This stage aims to build a solid groundwork in both the physical and theoretical aspects of dance.
Seasons 3-4: Efforts will be directed towards assessing current skill levels, identifying areas that need improvement, and providing constructive feedback on technique and performance. This will culminate in a presentation class on stage at the end of the year during the Panther Dance Celebrations.
Students are placed according to both age and ability.

Panther Dance follows the school calendar, so if there is no school, dance classes will not meet. Except for Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences, classes run as usual.
Photo Day is where individual and group photos are taken by a team of professional photographers. Proofs are sent home and families may place an order if they choose. Attendance on Photo Day is a service we offer to families, it is not mandatory.
Technical Rehearsals*
Each group will have a 40-minute session on stage to run through their class. During this time, students will get familiar with the stage, and teachers will handle the blocking. We aim to schedule this as close to the regular class times as possible. Detailed schedule TBA.
Dress Rehearsals*
Full run-through of each class without audience. Time TBA.
Panther Dance Celebrations*
Presentation class on stage including a warm-up and set exercises, where students will demonstrate the techniques they have practiced, leading to short routines that highlight their technical skills. This presentation provides a platform for students to display their learning, gain confidence, and celebrate their achievements. Time TBA.
*Kindly note, more than 3 absences may result in exclusion from performing. Attendance at rehearsals and performances is mandatory; missing technical or dress rehearsals without a valid excuse (e.g., illness) may lead to exclusion from participating in the event.
