Giving to ISB – International School Bangkok

Every gift to International School Bangkok counts, with two areas in which you can direct your donations:

ISB School Improvement Fund – Improved facilities, teacher training, increased opportunities in Athletics and in the Fine and Performing Arts, educational technology

Thai Scholarship program – Supporting Thai students who are extraordinarily talented mathematicians, artists, writers, leaders and athletes, but who could not otherwise afford to attend ISB

Other – Through our Alumni office, we run fundraises to support different projects connected to our alumni or to support individual alumni or friends of ISB, should there be a need.

We are truly grateful for the generosity and loyalty of all of our donors. We thank you for your support of our students’ learning.

Message from Head of School

Dear ISB Supporter,

Since 1951, ISB has provided a high quality international education for students from all over the world. ISB now proudly boasts an alumnus of thousands that contribute in many ways to our global society.

ISB’s Mission is to inspire students to:

  • Achieve their academic potential
  • Be passionate, reflective learners
  • Become caring global citizens, and
  • Lead healthy, active and balanced lives

To live our Mission and to fully reach our potential as a school, ISB needs your help. The ISB Board of Trustees has recently established a fundraising program to support a variety of school improvement initiatives and to contribute to the people of our host nation.

Over the years, ISB has received donations from parents, community members, corporations and embassies. ISB’s level of progress would not have been possible without this support. These funds have been used to sponsor:

  • Teacher training
  • A new Cultural Center that hosts music, dance and drama activities
  • Security improvements
  • A Robotics program
  • College visits by ISB administrators and counselors to build strong relationships
  • Scholarships for Thai students
  • Improved learning facilities

Please consider becoming one of our School Improvement Fund contributors and help ISB achieve excellence. If you have questions or concerns, or would like further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andrew Davies

Head of School

How your Gift Makes a Difference

Every gift to International School Bangkok counts, with two areas in which you can direct your donations:

ISB School Improvement Fund – Improved facilities, teacher training, increased opportunities in Athletics and in the Fine and Performing Arts, educational technology

Thai Scholarship program – Supporting Thai students who are extraordinarily talented mathematicians, artists, writers, leaders and athletes, but who could not otherwise afford to attend ISB

We are truly grateful for the generosity and loyalty of all of our donors. We thank you for your support of our students’ learning. Check our Donation FAQ to see detailed information on how your contribution will be utilized.

Contributing to the Fund

Why should I contribute to the School Improvement Fund?

This frequently asked question often leads to another underlying one: “We pay substantial tuition and fees already, why should we do more?” The answer to both questions is simple. We ask that you contribute to give our young people every advantage possible in an increasingly competitive world. Yes, we have an outstanding faculty, curriculum and facility, but those who are satisfied with the status quo are generally left behind as new technologies, materials, and innovations emerge. We have a clearly defined Vision for Learning. We know where we are going and we know we will get there. However, tuition and fees are not enough to help us achieve these goals in a timely manner. We need the support of parents, alumni, and corporations to continue to give our students the very best.

Managing the Fund

How will the School Improvement Fund be managed?

The School Improvement Fund will be overseen by the Board of Trustees in the same manner as it oversees all of ISB’s financial matters, and it will be audited to the same standard as all other school funds.

How will the School Improvement Fund be developed?

We expect the School Improvement Fund to become a strong, active contributor to the learning and financial well-being of ISB. We will begin with small steps and move incrementally to expand the program. The processes that are already in place to request funds from individuals and organizations will be continued. As we learn more about best practices from other schools, we will enhance the scope of our giving program.

Implementation and Uses

How will the School Improvement Fund be used?

At this point, we expect that projects such as the following will be supported:

Scholarships: Supporting Thai students who are extraordinarily talented mathematicians, artists, writers and leaders, but who could not otherwise afford to attend ISB

University Admissions: Ensuring that ISB students have access to the world’s best universities

Teacher Training: Taking advantage of high quality professional development opportunities all over the world

Student Enrichment: Providing opportunities for students to take part in conventions the world over in areas such as such as Robotics competitions, Music & Arts Festivals, Model United Nations, Global Issues Network, and more

Fund Parn’s American Dream

Ruklanna, also known as Parn, is from ChiangRai, which is in the Northern part of Thailand. 3 years ago, she was one of the few candidates selected for a full tuition scholarship at International School Bangkok (ISB). She worked exceptionally hard over these years and in 2018 she graduated with excellent results.

She was awarded a part scholarship to Oberlin University in Ohio, as well as their Community Service Scholarship. Having the opportunity to study in the USA, at such a fantastic college, is a dream of Parn’s and a pathway to a bright and successful future. Parn also received funding from ISB towards her further studies, and from the ISB Alumni Network. However, she still needs a small amount of additional money to support her through her 4 years at Oberlin and to make her dream a reality.

Please help us to fund this dream for her, by making a small but invaluable donation to the cause. She has come so far and has the opportunity to go even further, with a little help from us.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity!
