Pre-K to Grade 1 families have a staggered start and a separate orientation program which will be shared with you during the week before school begins.
All new families will have an opportunity to meet the teacher before their child's first day of school on this day or later, depending on their child's grade level as the Pre-K students have a staggered start to their year. You can learn more about this in the next section.
Middle & High School
The Middle & High School orientation will have separate sessions for students and parents. Students have a chance to meet other students, get a school tour, and learn about our platforms while parents are introduced to our portals and the admin team.
If your family cannot attend the orientation sessions, please let us know. Orientation will be conducted with your child’s counselor in a 1:1 appointment scheduled according to your arrival.

Before you begin at ISB
- Pending Checklist Items
- Medical Forms
- Visa Documents (Expat & Educational Visa families only)
- Local Contact Information
- Transcripts (Grades 10-12 only)
Pending Checklist Items
Please always refer to your child's checklist in OpenApply to know what remains to be done. This includes:
- Medical Forms
- Visa Documents
- Local Contact Information
The checklist needs to be fully completed in order for your child to be issued their ID card and be able to start attending classes. The due date for these items is August 1st. Admissions will be available on August 5th/6th to help with any outstanding issues.
If you are not sure about a checklist item or cannot complete the checklist by August 1st, please get in touch with Admissions as soon as possible.
Medical Forms
Medical Forms are due by August 1st to ensure your child can start school from the start of the school year. These forms require processing and approval from the school Health Center team.
Without approved forms, students will not be issued ID cards and have access to the campus and attend classes. If you cannot meet this deadline, please let us know immediately.
For families who prefer to complete the required medical checks after arrival in Bangkok, we recommend any of these hospitals:
- World Medical Hospital (close to Nichada Thani)
- Bumrungrad International Hospital (Downtown)
- MedPark Hospital (Downtown)
- Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital (Downtown)
- Bangkok Hospital (Downtown)
Some hospitals offer promotions from ISB families so we recommend mentioning this when making a booking!
Visa Documents (Expat & Educational Visa families only)
Submit copies of your family’s Thai visas. We recommend that as soon as your child's visa is available, please upload it to OpenApply.
All students must have a valid non-immigrant or educational visa stamped in their passports or have an e-visa certificate (non-immigrant visas only) in order to attend classes at ISB.
Parents of students with an educational visa must have the dependent visa (O type visa) stamped in their passport.
For all the information about our support of ED visa families, please click here.
Local Contact Information
We will need local phone numbers for at least one parent and also at least one non-parent local emergency contact. This emergency contact can be a neighbor, colleague, secretary etc. and can be changed at any point later on.
This information is important for us to have in the event of an emergency and without this, students cannot attend classes at ISB.
We understand you may not have this information until after your arrival and that this may be among the last things you will submit.
Transcripts (Grades 10-12 only)
Students entering grades 10-12 must provide their official transcript from their previous high school for a formal transfer of their credits, graduation requirements, and future university applications. It is the responsibility of your family for the transcripts to be provided to ISB.
There are three ways to submit the transcripts - electronically or by hand/post in a sealed envelope. See below for details.
By Email: The previous high school(s) can send the official transcript(s) by email to transcripts@isb.ac.th or admissions@isb.ac.th.
By Hand: The previous high school(s) can give you a copy to hand-deliver to ISB. The transcript(s) must be in a signed and sealed envelope. Please arrange to obtain the signed and sealed transcript(s) prior to your child’s last day of school and do not open it. The transcript(s) can only be accepted and used by ISB if received in a signed and sealed envelope.
By Post: The previous high school(s) can send the transcript(s) via post to the address below. The transcript(s) must be in a signed and sealed envelope. The transcript(s) can only be accepted and used by ISB if received in a signed and sealed envelope.

Meet Your Community & Student Ambassadors
Settling into life at ISB
For new students
We aim for all new students to have a positive start and so we select some of our returning students to help any newcomers adjust to ISB.
In Elementary School, your child will be assigned a classroom buddy on their first day of school. This student will sit with your child in class and during snack and lunch to help them feel comfortable.
In Middle & High School, our Student Ambassadors will meet your child during orientation and they will be their ‘go-to person’ at the start of the year. These students are selected to help your child get around the campus for the first few weeks, introduce them to new friends, eat lunch with them, and more, all to help your child settle in. On the first day of school, they will meet your child at the front of the turnstiles at an agreed time to walk them to class.
For new parents
We are piloting a Parent Ambassador Program that is being run by two of our rising seniors which aims to connect new and current ISB families. We will share a sign-up form soon that will help the students connect you with a current family to help your family settle in to life in Thailand.
Community Reps / Booster Reps
If you would like to get involved with your community or at ISB, please visit our School Community page for more details.
Community Liaisons
We are fortunate to have Helen, Machiko, and Regina supporting our new and current Chinese, Japanese, and Korean families at ISB.
Please feel free to reach out to them at the following addresses if you have any questions about your community.
- Helen - chineselia@isb.ac.th
- Machiko - japaneselia@isb.ac.th or machikom@isb.ac.th
- Regina - korealia@isb.ac.th
Getting to and from ISB
Living in Nichada Thani?
For those who live in Nichada, the gated community where ISB is located, there are many ways to arrive on campus through four different entrances. Students can walk on to campus, ride their bike or scooter, or be driven to school. Nichada has sidewalks and bike lanes to ensure your child can get to school safely and easily from any corner of the neighborhood.
You may have heard of the golf carts that many of the families here use and if you are interested in getting one for your family, we recommend reaching out to Zippi who rent and sell various golf carts. We suggest you get in touch before your move to Nichada as inventory can be limited. You may also find golf carts for sale on some of the community Facebook pages.
Are you a parent who will work downtown? If yes, please check with your organization if they organize a shuttle from Nichada to your office.
Taking the school bus?
ISB has partnered with Montri Bus Company for student transportation since the 1970s! We offer door-to-door pick-up and drop-off for ES students and for later drop-off times, MS and HS students are dropped at the bottom/top of the Sois.
The Bus Sign-up Form will be available in PowerSchool closer to the start of the year.
Buses will leave ISB at the following times:
First buses
- 1:25pm for Pre-K1 & Pre-K2 students
- 2:40pm for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students
- 3:05pm for MS and HS students
Second buses
These buses leave after extra-curricular activities
- 3:55pm for ES students
- 4:00pm for MS and HS students
Third buses
- 5:10pm for MS & HS students only (Tuesday departure at 5:20pm, Friday departure at 4:50pm).
Early Release Days
All buses leave at 1.25pm
You can contact Montri Transport (info@montri.co.th or cscenter@montri.co.th) to learn about the nearest pick-up and drop-off point to your home.
Driving to campus?
If you are using your family car to send your child to school, please obtain a car sticker by completing this application form. You will be contacted to pick up the sticker(s), once they are ready, usually after 2-3 school days. Please feel free to check the progress of your vehicle sticker by contacting Khun Wan at patcharc@isb.ac.th or 02 9635 800 Ext. 7737.
Need a ride downtown during the day or on weekends?
ISB organizes a complimentary van service to Emporium Suites in the morning and back to ISB in the afternoon. This is available to any ISB community member Mon-Sat. You can see find the schedule for the van here.
DELVE Trips (for HS only)
DELVE - HS Week without Walls
Our upcoming DELVE - Service Week Trips - at ISB offer a meaningful and impactful experience for all our high school students, fostering social responsibility, collaboration, and personal growth. New students benefit from community integration, forming lasting friendships, contributing to service projects, and gaining cultural exposure. During orientation next week, I will discuss the purpose of DELVE trips with all new families.
The registration for all new students is from Aug 7-9th, 2024.

Activities
Opportunities for everyone!
With all the activities on offer at ISB, your child will be able to make the campus their second home. Whether it’s sports, arts, community service, we are certain your child will find passions to follow.
We will have a desk during the Welcome Days (Aug 5th and 6th) where you can learn more about the many opportunities at ISB.
You can review the activities available by visiting the Student Life page and there’s even more on the ISB Athletics and Panther Activities pages. We have something for everyone, even the parents, who can join the Adult Education classes or help run/organize activities for children. Adult pick-up games and sports are also available daily on campus for which you can sign-up at the start of the year.
If you have any questions about activities, please contact the Panther Activities Office.
Uniforms, Supplies, and ID Cards
Uniforms
The uniform consists of a polo shirt and black shorts, each with the school emblem.
Physical Education (PE) uniforms are unisex and consist of black shorts and a white or yellow sports shirt.
ISB uniforms can be purchased on campus year-round at the Book Store from 7:30am-2pm and will be available for purchase during the Welcome Day.
ES students wear their PE uniforms all day on the days they have PE class, which is every other day. MS and HS students must change into their PE uniforms and back into their school uniform for their next class.
School Supplies
We advise you to wait before purchasing any items prior to your arrival but your MS or HS child is welcome to bring their own. Please note that:
- For ES students, no school supplies are necessary as any items students would need are provided for them in their classrooms. Your child's teacher will inform you during the first week and throughout the year if any additional supplies are required. For the first week, we only require that students are in the correct uniform (Polo/PE), bring a backpack, water bottle, and a hat. The ES office will share what uniform is required for your child’s first day.
- Students in MS and HS are provided with a MacBook Air laptop for their school work during class and to take home for schoolwork and over school breaks. Students can use their own supplies or purchase anything required for class at our Book Store and we provide a recommended list of items or sell a supply pack to help with this.
- All HS students are required to have a graphing calculator (TI-84 Plus CE recommended) which is also available for purchase for approximately $200 USD at the Book Store. You may be able to obtain this for less online, ahead of your arrival, so we encourage you to consider visiting some online or your local stores before you depart for Thailand.
ID Cards
All students and parents are also issued an ID card.
For ES students, this card is only for campus access and book borrowing.
For MS and HS students, their cards are also used for buying food/drinks, printing, and also work as their locker key.
The parent ID cards are for campus access and for purchasing food/drinks, supplies and can also be used to pay for student activities. Families have the option of charging money to the cards on campus using one of our kiosks or at the Book Store. You can also top up your card online via the Parent Portal that you will have access to closer to the start of school.
We will take your ID photos during the Welcome Day and issue the cards only after your child's checklist is complete.
If you would like an ID card for another member of your household, such as a helper, nanny, or driver, please contact K'Wan. These ID cards will be available for order shortly after the start of the school year.
Invoices
The Business Office will provide you with a PDF of the invoice and receipt of payment of the tuition fees. Should you require a hard-copy invoice, please write to our colleague, Ms. Atchara Ounsri and she will be able to assist you. Upon your arrival to campus, you can pick it up at the Business Office or if you share your summer mailing address, we’ll send it to you!
If you have any questions about payment procedures, please feel free to contact Ms. Ounsri or Admissions.
