On-site Admissions Appointments
If you will be arriving from overseas and have not yet met with your child’s counselor, please contact us early with your arrival date so that an appointment can be scheduled and confirmed in advance. If you live in the Bangkok area or will be traveling to Bangkok before June 1 with your child, please let us know in advance and we may be able to schedule your appointments before June 1. If your date of arrival is after school opens alternative arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis. All appointments can be scheduled through the ISB Admissions Office (firstname.lastname@example.org)
You should plan to bring your child’s final school reports and updated standardized test scores to this appointment with you. It is also expected that High School Students entering grades 10-12 will have requested that their official transcripts be sent to ISB in advance or that you hand carry this in an unopened sealed envelope. ISB does accept official transcripts electronically if they are sent from school to school (not through a student or parent). Those may be sent to email@example.com
Students who have Completed the On-Site Appointment or PreK or Kg Screening
If you have already had an appointment to meet with your child’s counselor or came to ISB for a PreKG or KG screening appointment in February – June, 2017, then you should already have completed the admissions process and had your child’s ID photo taken. Please see the orientation activities described next.
New Student/Parent Orientation
Elementary Students Grades PreK-5: These sessions are only for families who have already met with a counselor in February – June of 2017 or for students who attended one of our PreK/Kg Group Screening sessions. You should return to ISB for one of the Elementary School group orientation sessions. You may choose the session that suites your schedule best. There will be 2 sessions as follows:
- Wednesday, August 9 at 2:00pm (no appointment necessary)
- Thursday, August 10 at 8:00am (no appointment necessary)
Middle School: All students who will enroll in grades 6-8, and their parents, should plan to attend the Middle School new student/parent orientation on Monday, August 14, 2017. Grade 1: As a part of the Grade 1 orientation process, all grade 1 students and parents will have a scheduled, small group time to meet informally with their respective teachers in the classroom on Tuesday, 16th August, 2017. Should you have any questions, please call the Elementary School office at 02-963-5800 extension 5504 or write to Khun Ann email@example.com
Elementary School All Grades: Class lists will be posted and classrooms will be open so that students will have an opportunity to meet their teacher on an informal basis on Friday, August 11 from 2:00 – 3:00pm.
The Elementary School counselors will be doing a variety of activities with the new students during the first couple of weeks of school to help with their transition to ISB and Thailand. However, please know that the counselors are available to meet with you or your child during the school day or after school, if you believe you or your child are experiencing difficulty or need assistance with anything.
Middle School: New Middle School students (students entering grades 6, 7 or 8) may look through the Middle School Program of Studies here and complete the Middle School course request form online here, in advance of their on-site admissions appointment with a counselor. If you had an appointment to meet with a counselor in February – June, 2017 then it is likely you have already completed a course request form. If you have any questions about the courses, do the best you can and submit the form anyway. Your counselor will help you with your questions during your individually scheduled appointment time.
High School: You will find the High School Course Registration forms in the High School section of the website here. You should consult with the high school academic courses online on that same page while completing your registration form. If you have any questions about the courses, do the best you can and submit the form anyway. Your counselor will help you with your questions during your individually scheduled appointment time. After you have made your selections, scan and send the form back to your admissions case manager (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Reach Out to an ISB Parent
If you are a new parent and would like to correspond with an ISB parent, please contact our Welcome Wai (email@example.com) You can request that you be put in touch with someone from your home country through the general Welcome Wai email address as well.
School Starting Times
Please find below start and end times for Elementary, Middle and High schools from the beginning of the next school year (2017/18). Supervision for elementary students will be provided starting at 7:00am.
Transportation and School Buses
Students that reside inside the Nichada Thani community often walk or ride their bicycles to school, with ISB maintaining covered bike racks which can accommodate more than 300 bicycles. Helmets are required for all students, parents and ISB employees who wish to ride their bicycle onto our campus.
For students living in the city, ISB utilizes Montri Bus Company. Students are picked up from their residences each morning and are offered departure times after school which accommodate the school sponsored after school activities and sports program. It is important to note that this bus schedule does not accommodate the schedules of all of the community activities. Each bus has a Montri employee that functions as the Bus Monitor with all buses having communication systems which allows Montri personnel to keep in direct contact with the school.
Buses will leave school at the following times:
- First bus 2:35pm
- Second bus 3:50pm
- Third bus 5:10pm (MS/HS students only; Friday departure 4:35pm)
Uniforms and School Supplies
All school uniforms must be purchased at ISB. The bookstore also sells school supplies. Only students in grades 6-12 need to purchase school supplies. School supplies are provided for elementary students.
