International School Bangkok (ISB) is the premier international school in Thailand, serving a diverse community of students from more than 60 nationalities. Founded on May 14, 1951, as the International Children's Centre, ISB is Thailand's first international school.
Our journey began in a single wooden building on the grounds of the United States Embassy, with 50 students in the early primary years. In those formative days, teaching was led by dedicated volunteer parents, establishing a strong sense of shared responsibility that continues to influence the school today. As ISB grew, it became an important center for the international community in Bangkok, earning a reputation for educational quality and stability during a period of significant global change. Over time, this growth enabled ISB to develop into one of Southeast Asia's most respected international schools.
Today, ISB serves approximately 1,700 students on a purpose-built campus set within a tropical environment. While the scale and setting have evolved, the spirit of ISB has remained constant. As an independent, not-for-profit institution guided by clear values for more than 70 years, ISB remains committed to academic excellence, global understanding, and preparing students thoughtfully for what comes next.
