Objectives/Purpose:

The Business Committee works closely with the head and deputy head to:

ensure ISB's short and long term financial stability
ensure that the grounds, buildings and business plans are in place to support ISB's vision, mission and goals

Scope:

Reviewing the long term financial plan
Reviewing the yearly budget and presenting it to the Board for approval
Monitoring the implementation of the budget
Giving strategic direction and monitoring the master plan for the school's building and grounds
Reviewing and monitoring ISB's business plans
Review of ISB's insurance policies, risk analysis and contingency plans
Making periodic reports to the board on the school's financial status
Reporting to the board on major projects
Overseeing any other financial or business-related matters
Functioning as a sounding board for the school's head and deputy head in financial and business decisions

Assumptions:

Business Committee members receive regular reports and updates from the head and deputy head
Business Committee members read and familiarize themselves with these financial and business-related reports
Business Committee members regularly attend the monthly committee meetings
The Business Committee will present any major decision to the BOT for approval
