To ensure the success of our students and to help each student meet his or her academic potential, ISB Middle School provides a range of support services. Two counselors are available to serve ISB Middle School students for academic and personal assistance. Support classes are provided for students still learning English as an additional language. Students with mild to moderate learning disabilities and students with speech and language needs receive instructional programs to facilitate their education.
To protect the health of our students, ISB employs three nurses to give first aid and to treat minor injuries and illnesses occurring at school. In addition, drug and alcohol use is not tolerated at ISB. A Middle School student may be subject to random and ad hoc hair testing periodically during the school year. Students with positive drug results will be suspended for up to two weeks and required to undergo family counseling sessions. Students returning to school after a positive test will be subject to additional tests. Expulsion will result should a second positive exam occur at any time during enrollment at ISB.
