FPAC--FINE & PERFORMING ARTS COUNCIL
Ms. Derow
Thursdays during lunch in the HS Choir room

The Fine and Performing Arts Council (FPAC) promotes the fine and performing arts at ISB. The main purpose and goals of the FPAC are to (1) lend support to all fine and performing arts groups; (2) provide students a venue to give input and feedback on the performance calendar; (3) promote awareness of the performances and activities of all fine arts groups; (4) raise audience attendance at performances; (5) enhance the fine and performing arts image at ISB; and (6) appreciate student works achievements in the various groups.

The Fine and Performing Arts Council is a fantastic way to stimulate, encourage, and support the practice and appreciation of the wide multiplicity of arts programs offered at ISB. Students interested in being involved in the FPAC should be energetic, enthusiastic, creative and passionate individuals who look to be positive role models and leaders for the Fine & Performing Arts. Any ISB student possessing the above characteristics can be nominated to this group of outstanding young adults. Final selections are made by the Director of Activities/Athletics after consulting with the Fine & Performing Arts faculty and the current FPAC membership.

TRI-M CLUB (MODERN MUSIC MASTERS)
Mr. Myers & Mrs. Helgeson

Thursdays during lunch in the HS Choir room

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society for middle/junior high and high school students that motivates and recognizes musical achievement. Founded in 1936 by Alexander and Frances Harley, incorporated and renamed Modern Music Masters in 1952, and in 1983, recognized as Tri-M Music Honor Society, a program of MENC, Tri-M has helped young people provide years of service through music in thousands of schools throughout the world. Through nearly 3,700 chartered chapters, thousands of students have received recognition for their efforts and honor for their musical accomplishments.

Tri-M shares and supports the objectives of every dedicated music educator - to increase student and school involvement with music and to strengthen and unify the school music program. Tri-M offers a complete system of rewards that help motivate effort and recognize excellence in individuals and chapters. With this system, the society builds self-esteem and provides a channel of personal fulfillment.

Tri-M is a program of MENC: The National Association for Music Education, the largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of music education. Through its many programs, activities, publications, and conferences, MENC addresses all aspects of music education and works to ensure that every student has access and exposure to a balanced, comprehensive, and high quality program of music instruction.
