The purpose of the Social Studies program is to develop in students the ability to think critically about the human condition in order to make informed decisions that guide social action. Students are encouraged to reflect upon their own cultural identities as well as to recognize and respect cultural similarities and differences within a global perspective. In building classroom community, Grade 1 students will build understanding of Rules, Responsibilities, and Relationships.
