Background
The Instrumental Music Lesson Program has been developed to offer as many students as possible a chance to benefit from individual study on a variety of instruments.
We hope that parents enrolling students in this program will consider the commitment a serious one. In order to ensure that students receive the maximum benefit possible from their lessons, parents should ensure that students attend lessons regularly and on time. The teachers - professionals on their respective instruments - are making a time commitment to us. Your cooperation will help us to maintain our excellent teaching staff.
The program is open to all ISB students, parents, and teachers. In the event that classes are full, priority will be given to ISB students.
Student placement is determined by the student’s and the instructor’s schedules. Students may choose 30-, 45-, or 60-minute lessons, in a private or group setting, meeting once or twice a week.
Instruments
As a parent who does not play a musical instrument, it can be quite daunting to be faced with the task of purchasing for your child an instrument that you can be sure is good value for money and will last. Any of the teachers and specialists will be happy to give advice about obtaining an instrument.
Recital
An informal recital is held at the end of the year to allow students of all playing abilities to participate. Generally guitar students hold a separate recital.
Withdrawal
Should a student withdraw from lessons, there is no refund of either the pre-registration fee or the program fee. Two notable exceptions where refunds will be made on a pro-rata basis are: long-term illness or injury or unscheduled transfer out of the country.
