Are you looking for a way to be an active member in the high school community? Or are you looking for a way to connect with other parents? Here are some ways to do just that. Volunteer in your child's classroom or school, or put your skills and talents to good use in one of the other schools. Welcome newscomers, promote school programs, raise support groups...how can you help?
- College of the Week Display (ongoing basis) Every week, a team of parent's researches one college/university and another team of parents put it up on display. This is a year-long commitment and is time-bound as the display goes up every week. The goal of this is to make our kids aware of the numerous choices they have for choosing colleges and rouse their interest one college at a time.
- School Catalog Library Maintenance (ongoing basis) Volunteers sort and arrange catalogs and other college/university literature in the High School office. This is also a year-long commitment but you can set your own time to come in and help out.
- College Fairs (a few hours per event) ISB hosts several college fairs per semester and the counselors need help for a few hours before each fair. The help required is usually, putting up the signs and promoting it. There are 4 important fairs in this semester, and we need parents who can commit to these dates.
- Thai University College Fair - This needs 2 parent volunteers
- AEO College Fair - This also needs 2 parent volunteers
- Linden College Fair - This is the biggest college fair hosted by ISB. We need 3-4 volunteers. For this the parent volunteers must attend pre-event training and go over all that is required. On the actual day of the fair the volunteers must arrive at 8.00 am. The fair starts at 10.00 am.
- UK College Fair -This also needs 2 parent volunteers.
