Membership & Participations


MEMBERSHIP

A. Membership of the IASAS organization shall be:
International School Bangkok ЕЕЕ. ISB
Jakarta International School ЕЕЕЕ JIS
International School Kuala Lumpur Е ISKL
International School Manila ЕЕЕЕ ISM
Singapore American School ЕЕЕЕ SAS
Taipei American School ЕЕЕЕЕ.. TAS

B. Regular voting membership shall be limited to these
six (6) schools.

C. Any change of this membership must be by unanimous
vote.




PARTICIPATIONS

A. Participation in IASAS events is limited to member schools. The exception to this will be that guest schools may be invited to participate in the Model United Nations.

B. Each member school agrees to participate in the following boysТ and girlsТ activities:
Cross Countryl
Soccer
Basketball
Swimming
Track & Field
Math Contest
Volleyball
Tennis
Rugby
Badminton
Softball
Cultural Conventions
Model United Nations

C. Participation shall be limited to full-time students grade nine and above

D. An individual shall be limited to four (4) years of eligibility. The 4 years need not be representing the same IASAS School or in the same activity and will start from the first year of participation.

E. A student shall be considered ineligible for the school year if he or she has attained the age of twenty (20) by the 1st of July prior to the school year.

F. Each IASAS school will complete with all others in all sports at a convention. No student may participate in more than one sport in an IASAS convention.

G. All member schools are in agreement that IASAS as an organization is committed to amateur athletics and activities. The spirit of IASAS is that participants are expected to be amateur in their IASAS activity.

H. The number of participants in IASAS activities shall be limited as follows:

Girls: 7 Cross Country Boys: 7
Girls: 9 Volleyball Boys: 9
Girls: 16 Soccer Boys: 16
Girls: 10 Basketball Boys: 10
Girls: 10 Rugby Boys: 13
Girls: 12 Swimming Boys: 12
Girls: 8 Tennis Boys: 8
Girls: 8 Badminton Boys: 8
Girls: 12 Softball Boys: 12
Girls: 15 Track & Field Boys:15

Model United Nations : Students: 12-14
Cultural Convention: Music: 27 students (8 Instr., 8 Vocal, 8 Strings, 3 Accomp.)
Art: 3 students
Drama, Dance, Forensics: 28 students

I. Any additions to the list of IASAS activities would require five (5) votes. A school could apply for a delay of mandatory participation on a year-to-year basis for any activity added after June 1, 1991.

J. Full Participation is defined as follows:
Member schools, through their Athletic/Activities Directors, and Coaches, should endeavor to ensure that as many students as the rules allow share in IASAS cultural and athletic events. An important feature of the organization is promotion of a wide range of activities in response to a wide range of student interests. Students should be encouraged to participate and, whenever possible, schools should bring and play the maximum number of participants at each event.
Note: Only the host school is permitted to have an organized cheerleader squad in attendance at an IASAS event.
