One of the Booster Club’s most important missions is to support ISB’s high school student's involvement in the Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asia Schools, commonly referred to as IASAS. Originating in 1982 and consisting of ISB and five other regional schools in Southeast Asia: International School Kuala Lumpur (ISKL), International School Manila (ISM), Singapore American School (SAS), Taipei American School (TAS) and Jakarta International School (JIS), the IASAS organization seeks to serve as an extension of school curriculum by enhancing student development through academic and intellectual pursuits, sports competition, fine and performing arts activities and intercultural opportunities.
- Hosting the pre-IASAS barbeques/receptions for the IASAS teams/groups and distribution of the IASAS travel duffle bags to IASAS participants and coaches/advisors
- IASAS “send offs” showering traveling students with Booster gifts such as IASAS goodie treat bags and good luck wishes
- Helping house visiting student athletes/cultural participants
- Providing hospitality for visiting coaches, advisors and students
- Promoting school spirit and Panther Pride during IASAS events
- Hosting end of the season sports and cultural convention banquet celebrations highlighting the IASAS events and seasons in general.
IASAS 2010-2011 Schedule of Events:
First Season IASAS: October 3-5, 2010. Soccer to JIS and Cross Country and Volleyball hosted at ISB!!
IASAS MUN: November 11-13, 2010 at SAS.
Second Season IASAS: January 27-29, 2011. Basketball to ISM, Rugby/Touch to TAS, Tennis to SAS and Swimming to ISKL.
IASAS Math Exam:
IASAS Cultural Convention: March 3-5, 2011. Art and Music to JIS. Dance, Drama, Debate and Forensics to ISKL.
Third Season IASAS: April 18-20, 2011. Badminton to ISM, Softball at JIS and Track and Field hosted at ISB!!
