How to Apply

 

Applications for admission may be made at any time of year. However, ISB is often at full capacity in many grade levels and programs, so we strongly urge you to complete Step 1 of the admissions process as soon as possible.


STEP 1 Make an Application

All documents in Step 1 are required prior to proceeding to Step 2, reserving a seat for admission prior to arrival in Thailand, or being offered a place on the waiting list.

All forms are available in the ISB Admissions packet - or can be downloaded from this webpage.  Form A may be submitted online at http://www.isb.ac.th/Online_Application)

  • Form A: Student Information/Educational History section of the application
  • Form B: Parent/Billing Information section of the application 
  • A minimum of two (2) to three (3) COMPLETE years of school records (where the student is old enough to possess them), reports, or transcript(s). All terms or semesters must be included (where the student is old enough to possess them). Reports should detai the student’s grades, marks, and teachers’ comments. All reports not issued in English must be officially translated into English
  • A Grading Key or grading scale (an explanation of the grading system used on the reports)  for all school reports, records and transcripts if not already included
  • Standardized test scores (means testing, or achievement scores) are required when available (ITBS, Stanford Achievement Scores, ISA etc.)
  • ISB Health Form
  • A copy of the student's passport photo page or birth certificate (in English)


STEP 2 Request to Schedule Appointments


All documents from Step 1 must be in the Admissions Office at least 2 days prior to any scheduled appointments. 

Once the student's arrival date is confirmed, please inform us so that we can schedule necessary appointments in advance for you.  Appointments may include the following:

  • EAL screening test (if applicable) 
  • Math Placement test (grades 9-12 only)
  • Counselor Appointment for an intake interview and other applicable screening tests, OR a Kindergarten/Pre-Kiindergarten screening. The intake interview will likely involve academic testing.


STEP 3 Submit Supporting Documents

  • Please send the following prior to your arrival in Bangkok or have them completed and ready to submit during your first visit to the Admissions Office:

The following documents are REQUIRED prior to starting school.  Sorry, no exceptions:

  • Proof of Immunizations
  • Contact Information Section (Form C) of the application (available in the ISB Admissions packet – or can be downloaded from this webpage)
  • All items in Step 1 above if not provided earlier

For expatriate students:

  • Copy of passport photo page of parent who is employed in Thailand and each student  (if not provided in step 1)
  • Copy of original visa page (that clearly shows visa type/category) for the parent and each student (non-immigrant visas are required by Thai law. Expatriate students cannot be enrolled without non-immigrant visas)
  • Copy of current visas for the parent and student if this is not your first year in Thailand
  • Copy of parent work permit for those who are self-employed (private business, or parents without a corporate sponsor only) 

For students holding Thai passports

  • Copy of student’s Thai birth certificate and Household Registration
  • Copy of parent’s Household Registration and Thai National Identity Card

These items are required as soon as they are available:

  • TB Screening results - required within 20 days of enrollment
  • Non-refundable Application processing fee Baht 4,500 per student
  • Three passport size photos of the student
  • Letter of Verification from corporate sponsor, if applicable
  • Official Transcript(s) for all students enrolling in grades 9 (semester 2), 10, 11 and 12, showing all previous coursework in grades 9-12 (an official transcript is issued directly by the school, contains the school's official stamp or seal, and is delivered to ISB in a sealed envelope).
