PARENT/TEACHER COMMUNICATION
There are many ways that I.S.B. and Grade One teachers communicate with parents.
- During the first week of school each family receives an information booklet entitled “Go in Grade One” detailing important information about grade level procedures and programs.
- Folders sent home each Friday contain letters and articles to keep parents informed of what is happening at school.
- The Touchstone Magazine and Panther Pause are monthly newsletters which inform parents of the many happenings in the I.S.B. community and Elementary School.
- The weekly Panther Cub Bulletin details upcoming Elementary School events.
- Class newsletters periodically accompany samples of a child’s work.
- Teachers may contact the class teacher by sending a note in the child’s folder, e-mail, telephone, an informal chat, or scheduling a meeting. Parents may contact teachers in the same way.
- Progress reports are sent by the teacher as needed.
It is important to all of us that parents understand the grade level program and reasons for using certain teaching methods. Parents and teachers both want what is best for the child, and good communication helps us work together towards that goal.
