CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
At ISB we believe that involvement in activities is as essential as what students do in the classroom. By actively taking part in clubs and organizations students can dramatically enhance their High School years and those to come.
For the majority of students who plan to continue their education at university level, becoming an active club participant can substantially increase their chances of admission. College admission directors value a well-balanced diet of hard work and hard ?play?. Since padding an application with a long list of clubs that have been attended sporadically is counter-productive, it is suggested that students seriously focus on one or two activities that they have a genuine interest in.
Students at ISB should also keep in mind that there is a community service requirement which must be fulfilled in order to graduate. Many of the clubs and organizations listed in this section include community service components that help to meet this requirement. The wide variety of clubs and organizations offered at ISB are divided into the following categories: (a) Student Leadership Organizations; (b) Community Service Clubs; (c) Global Awareness/Environmental Clubs; (d) Fine Arts Clubs; (e) Publications; (f) Language & Culture Clubs; (g) Computer & Technology Clubs; (h) Sports & Fitness Clubs; and (i) Special Interest Clubs. The vast majority of these activities and clubs meet at lunch or after school. The healthy combination of social, practical and intellectual offerings gives ISB students a chance to meet with other students and participate in something new.
